PROJET
Mapping of carbon stocks and their modelling and conservation by carbon payments in the forest belt of the DR Congo
A. The project aimed to provide for the first time a comprehensive survey and cartographic representation of the carbon content of the forests of the DR Congo using the innovative LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technique, among others, and to make it available to all potential REDD+ stakeholders. B. A large-scale REDD+ model project in the "Lac Tumba Landscape" is to further develop various forest protection measures, whose effectiveness, efficiency and feasibility can be demonstrated by using the carbon data collected, and thus serve as a model for future REDD+ projects in the DR Congo.
