Preserving Biodiversity in the Nyungwe Forest
Conservation of the mountain cloud forest with its unique biodiversity, which is highly relevant both as a CO2 sink and for the regional climate (evapotranspiration, small water cycle) and for the run-off process, by reducing the utilisation pressure through sustainable agriculture and forestry (agroforestry) within a protective belt in the peripheral zone and in the neighbouring cultural landscape.
