To conduct a standardized assessment of ape numbers and biodiversity in the Kasese region west of Kahuzi Biega National Park to produce management recommendations necessary to improve protection of ape populations.

A biological survey to identify key areas to protect great apes in the proposed Reserve des Gorilles de Punia (RGPU) region;
Objectif spécifique
Participatory zoning of the Kasese forest based on the results of the survey to build support of local leaders and key stakeholders for great ape conservation in the region.
