Objectif général

To support a conservation effort in Kahuzi Biega National Park, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, by improving law enforcement and wildlife security. The project is intended to conserve one of the largest populations of Grauer’s gorillas and other Albertine Rift wildlife by addressing hunting and other illegal activities in the park.

Establishment of a software system, named Sentinal, to organize intelligence data and improve coordination of law enforcement response to wildlife crime
Objectif spécifique
Deployment of ground sensors at trafficking hotspots to improve the park authority’s ability to detect illegal extraction of resources, including support for training and initial operational support by Maisha Consulting;
Objectif spécifique
Integration of arrest and intelligence data into SMART, a law enforcement monitoring system used in the park to improve ranger patrol strategy.
