To provide the coordination and facilitation for a more effective Gabon Sea Turtle Partnership and to provide the technical and scientific support to develop and improve the capacity of MTCF-supported projects in West Africa to protect nests and nesting females from poaching and reduce sea turtle bycatch in coastal fisheries. Specific activities include: (1) organization and facilitation of the annual meeting of the Gabon Sea Turtle Partnership and follow-up to foster cohesion and effectiveness in the implementation of partnership conservation priorities; and (2) site visits to MTCF-funded projects in Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of the Congo, and Ivory Coast to provide scientific and technical support to address threats and strengthen capacity of the implementing MTCF grantees.
