PROJET
Reducing the extinction risk of the three critically endangered birds of Sao Tome
To support a conservation effort in the island nation of Sao Tomé and Principe by improving understanding of the distribution, populations, threats to and requirements of critically endangered birds, and using this understanding to develop conservation management solutions in partnership with key stakeholders. It intends to conserve three critically endangered endemic bird species, Dwarf Olive Ibis (Bostrychia bocagei), Sao Tomé Fiscal (Lanius newtoni) and Sao Tomé Grosbeak (Neospiza concolor), by addressing the impacts caused from forest loss by large-scale agricultural project development, disturbance, hunting and introduced non-native species.
