Marine turtle monitoring and protection in the Republic of Congo

Objectif général

To protect nesting leatherback and olive ridley sea turtles along three 10 km long nesting beaches adjacent and south of Conkouati-Douli National Park, as well as the continuation of a turtle bycatch release program with local fishers that releases approximately 1,500 turtles annually.
