Objectif général
To support a conservation capacity development effort in Cameroon and the Republic of Congo by enabling national authorities to properly identify protected species and to enforce CITES. This project is intended to conserve CITES protected species by addressing the impacts of illegal wildlife crime more efficiently by ensuring the implementation of CITES by national authorities, customs, and enforcement officers and thereby increasing seizures of illegal specimens and decreasing wildlife crime.

Development of guides to facilitate identification of listed and protected species for each country

Distribution of CITES guides to relevant authorities to enable them to accurately identify wildlife species and specimens
Objectif spécifique
Development and delivery of onsite CITES train-the-trainer training to provide needed skills and tools at strategic border and control points.
